Afatinib in NSCLC with uncommon EGFR mutations

This Publication Perspective provides a summary of the article ‘Afatinib for the Treatment of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Harboring Uncommon EGFR Mutations: A Database of 693 Cases’ by James Chih-Hsin Yang and co-authors. The paper, originally published in the Journal of Thoracic Oncology, comprehensively analysed the effect of afatinib treatment in 693 patients with non-small cell lung cancer harboring uncommon EGFR mutations. The results provide important information when considering optimal treatment for tumors with uncommon EGFR mutations, including compound mutations.
