The Video Journal of Biomedicine is published by Future Medicine Ltd (‘Future Medicine’), a limited company registered in England and Wales, company registration number 4059017, whose registered office is located at Unitec House, 2 Albert Place, Finchley Central, London N3 1QB, UK, VAT number GB 756 8474 79. This website is operated by Future Medicine Ltd. Use of this site is subject to the following Terms and Conditions. 

 

Use of Videos 

Authors publishing a video in the Video Journal of Biomedicine retain the following rights to re-use the video, provided the video or any part of it is not sold or reproduced for commercial purposes (i.e., for monetary gain on your own account or on that of a third party, or for indirect financial gain by a commercial entity). This does not affect your rights to receive a royalty or other payment for works of scholarship. These rights apply without needing to seek permission from the publisher.  

After publication of the video, and provided that appropriate acknowledgement of the journal, publisher and full bibliographic reference are given, you may use the published version of the video in the following ways:  

  • Sharing with colleagues; 
  • Use of all, or part, of the video in personal compilations or other scholarly videos of your own work;
  • Use of the video within an employer’s institution or company for educational or research purposes, including use in educational course packs; 
  • Posting of the final video on a personal website, an employer’s intranet/repository or free public servers relating to the theme of the video. 

Third parties will be entitled to re-use the video, in whole or in part, in accordance with the conditions outlined in the Creative Commons Deed, Attribution 4.0 Non-Commercial (CC BY-NC; further details from www.creativecommons.org), which allows Open Access dissemination of your work with acknowledgement, but does not permit commercial exploitation.  

 

Payment 

You agree to pay the video publication fees, as discussed with the Publisher, together with any associated tax. Further details on our payments policies can be found at https://www.future-science-group.com/terms-and-conditions. Failure to pay the associated video publication fees will result in the video being removed from this website. 

 

Copyright 

Unless otherwise indicated, Future Medicine Ltd and its licensors hold the copyright in all material held on this site. No material may be resold or published elsewhere without written consent, save as authorized by a license with Future Medicine Ltd or to the extent required by the applicable law. 

 

Limitation of liability 

Future Medicine does not warrant that the information in the articles is complete or accurate or free from error. Users acknowledge the need to independently verify the accuracy of all instructions, formulae and drug doses with primary sources for such information. 

No responsibility is assumed by Future Medicine for any injury and/or damage to persons or property as a matter of products liability, negligence or otherwise, or from any use or operation of any methods, products, instructions or ideas contained in the videos. Because of rapid advances in medicine and in the pharmaceutical sciences, independent verification of diagnoses and drug dosages should be established.

Future Medicine may make changes to these Terms and Conditions at any time by updating this posting. The user should, therefore, review the Terms and Conditions regularly. Continued use of the Website will be subject to the Terms and Conditions current at the time. The most current version of the Terms and Conditions can be reviewed by clicking on the Terms and Conditions hypertext link located at the bottom of the home page. 

The user will be responsible for obtaining and paying the costs of a suitable Internet connection in order to access the Website and will not use the Website for any illegal purpose or in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any Future Science Group server or interfere with any other party’s use and enjoyment of the Website. 

All intellectual property in the Website and the information and material it contains, including without limitation copyright and trademarks, is owned by or licensed to Future Science Group unless otherwise noted. No right, title or interest in any intellectual property in the Website is transferred or licensed to the user by its use of the Website. The user may download and print extracts from the Website for its personal use. All access to and use of products produced by Future Science Group will be subject to the terms of a separate written agreement. 

Future Science Group is not responsible for the content of any other websites or pages linked to or linking to this Website. Following links to any other websites or pages shall be at the user’s own risk and Future Science Group shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damages resulting from the use of such other websites. 

Future Medicine does not guarantee that the site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. The User is responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform to access the site. The User should use their own virus protection software. 

The User must not misuse the site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. The user must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which the site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the site. The user must not attack the site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this provision, the user would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. Future Medicine will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing the user’s identity to them. In the event of such a breach, the user’s right to use the site will cease immediately. 

Future Medicine may amend these terms from time to time. Every time the user wishes to use the site, please check these terms to ensure the terms that apply at that time are understood. 

Future Medicine may update and change the site from time to time to reflect changes to Future Science Group’s products, users’ needs and business priorities. 

Future Medicine does not guarantee that the site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. Future Medicine may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of the site for business and operational reasons. Future Medicine will try to give the user reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal.

While reasonable care has been taken in the preparation of this website to ensure that the information contained on it is accurate, no warranty or representation of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement is given, nor is any warranty or representation given that there will be no delays, failures, errors, omissions or loss of transmitted information. 

To the extent permitted by applicable laws, no liability is accepted for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage or loss of use, data, business opportunity or profits, whether in an action in contract, negligence or other tortious action, however resulting from the access to and use of the Website and the information and materials contained on it. 

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of the above jurisdiction will have non-exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any dispute which may arise. 

 

Law 

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts as regards any claim or matter arising under these terms and conditions and/or your use of the articles. However, Future Medicine Ltd shall have the right to bring an action against you in the courts of where you are based if it considers you are in breach of any of these terms and conditions.
